Comment nous sommes devenus propriétaires...

19 mars 2009.

March 19, 2009. After sending paperwork back and for between the bank and the notary, we received the confirmation, it is the D day.
  • 6.30 AM: Waking up... We did not sleep so well anyway...
  • 8.00 AM: Making some necessary paperwork to get a certificate we do not own anything (mandatory to get the free insurance from the Wallonia government).
  • 10.30 AM: Meeting with our notary to sign the official paperwork for the mortgage loan... We are now "rich" for a couple of minutes.
  • 11.45 AM: Meeting with the second notary... wow... a check with 6 digits... Actually, we're not so rich anymore. We've got all the documents in draft for 2 weeks, so no need to read them again, let's sign them! Now, we are poor but landowners!
  • 12.30 PM: Panic in the car! They misspelled my name! Am I really a landowner then? Fortunately, we've got an excellent notary and a couple of hours later, everything is corrected... but so stressful!
  • 7.00 PM: Champagne and foie gras for dinner... and I'll not share the rest. ;o)
